A former cabinet member of the King Administration, statewide association director and university researcher, Ed McLaughlin is well prepared to head up the Maine Economic Research Institute (MERI). In his current tenure as President & CEO of MERI, Ed has been traveling extensively throughout Maine. His regional briefings present accurate, objective and nonpartisan information to business leaders on issues affecting Maine’s business environment.

 A graduate of the University of Maine, Ed and his wife Susan live in Newport, Maine.

Bob joined the MERI team August 2007 following a 16+ year career in special events fundraising for the American Lung Association of Maine. His primary focus is in marketing MERI products and services, and broadening the business base of support for its mission.

Bob holds a BS from the University of Maine at Augusta , and is working to complete a Masters Degree at Thomas College . Bob has two children and three grandchildren and enjoys cycling, kayaking and golfing. Bob also volunteers many hours each year in the community and resides in Belgrade .
